At the end of January, two cadets from 211 (Newbury) Squadron ATC competed in the Wing cross country competition.

Cadets McGrath and Sinoplu along with 13 other cadets from across Thames Valley took part in the annual cross country competition, competing against cadets from as far afield as Plymouth and Cornwall.

The 3 mile course, just outside Winchester, proved tricky for some, with a good mix of hilly and flat terrain, but that didn't stop cadet McGrath from coming second in his category, Junior Boys.

Overall, the cadets from Thames Valley came 4th, but were only 20 points from top spot and hopefully next year will be able to push on and get themselves more points.

Both cadets Sinoplu and McGrath will get a "Wing Blue", a badge for representing Thames Valley in sporting events, which they will be presented with shortly.
