Our Squadron

Our squadron is rich in history, having been one of the first squadrons formed back in 1941. We're constantly adding to this through new feats and achievements, such as the approval of our squadron crest (part of the recent rebranding of the squadron), the events we are able to offer, and being successful. In 2006 211 Squadron ATC was granted a Squadron badge, based upon that of 211 Squadron Royal Air Force, by the RAF Inspector of Badges, by Peter Gwynn-Jones CVO, Garter King of Arms - one of only three squadrons in the UK to have achieved this.

Part of the Air Cadet Organization (ACO) which also includes RAF Sections of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organization supported by the Royal Air Force.

Cadet Ranks

Every cadet will work his or her way through the various stages of training and classifications with potential to reach the level of Staff Cadet. It is not the same, however, with the rank structure on a Squadron. Promotion is awarded as a result of selection by the Squadron Commander. The number of cadets that can be promoted is limited.
