Shooting success - June 2006

One of the Squadron’s strongest and most popular events is target shooting - and this year we are taking a team to Bisley, home of shooting in the UK.

With a range of target rifles available to us, and high quality instruction through coaching and progressive training methods, the Squadron has, for the first time in several years, been selected to go be representatives in the Inter-Service Cadet Rifle Meet at Bisley, the home of UK shooting.

Warrant Officer Ian Lowe, the Squadron’s Shooting Officer, has for the last few months been coaching a number of cadets on the L81 Cadet Target Rifle, with several achieving their Wing & Regional Marksman awards.

All the training has paid off, with a team of four cadets being selected to represent the Squadron and the Wing at this annual and prestigious event in which they will be up against the Army & Sea Cadets at distances up to 600m over the three days of the competition.

We look forward to seeing them at Bisley – albeit in the Squadron’s alternative role as Butt marker’s for the National Rifle Associations Historic Arms Meeting.

Good luck!
