Cyprus Camp - April 2006

Overseas camps are by far and away one of the biggest privileges available to Air Cadets. This year, as well as sending cadets to RAF Rheindahlen in Germany, two cadets were also given places on the Easter Camp at RAF Akrotiri, Cyrpus.

Cadets George Martin and Andrew Penna both attended on separate weeks, Martin with the Squadron, and Penna with the Combined Cadet Force.

As well as experiencing the local delights of local towns such as Limassol, there were also a number of other activities laid on, including a flight in an RAF Griffin helicopter, shooting, section visits and having front row seats of the RAF’s Red Arrows display team doing their pre-season warm up in the sunny climes of the Mediterranean.

The camp was enjoyed by both cadets, who have since become the envy of their squadron peers for having such a great opportunity!
